Goodwill Ambassadors

Nominating a Goodwill Ambassador

Anyone can nominate a Goodwill Ambassador, whether or not you served in the Peace Corps.  The deadline for submission is September 1, 2008. 

Please email a one-pager to describing who the person is and why you believe he or she should be an ambassador to MorePeaceCorps. You do not need to know the nominee personally. Where possible, please include his or her current contact information (phone, fax, email, and mailing address). Be sure to provide your own contact information.  We may rely on you to facilitate correspondence. If your nominee is selected, we will notify you.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A GOODWILL AMBASSADOR

• Allow MorePeaceCorps to use his or her name as a supporter
• Provide a few inspiring pictures which we can use on the website and in printed advocacy materials
  
• If feasible, appear in an advocacy video (Production Fall 2008, Launch in 2009)
• For nominees living in the United States, we ask Goodwill Ambassadors to attend our outreach events as Special Guests

Note: This appointment will not require any travel outside of the host country

SUITABLE NOMINEES

We suggest nominating athletes, musicians, teachers, artists, noted politicians, and other inspiring host nationals that you know personally or learned about while in the Peace Corps.  You might also want to select someone less prominent with an inspiring story.  The nominee can be of any age and need not have a direct Peace Corps connection.  We are aiming for an equal number of men and women.
