What does NPCA do with your information?

NPCA does not release any of the information we collect from membership applications, merchandise sales, donor cards, the internet, or any other source, except in restricted situations for the benefit of the NPCA. In particular:

• To Bank of America for the purpose of promoting the National Peace Corps Association credit card only. The NPCA receives a portion of the revenue from its affinity credit card sales and relies on these moneys for program support. NPCA approves all copy distributed to its members through the NPCA Credit Card Program. Under a signed NPCA-Bank of America agreement, Bank of America is not authorized to make separate solicitations to our members and is not permitted to provide, rent or sell our information to other parties.
• To member groups and to individual returned Peace Corps Volunteers or former Peace Corps Staff we deem to be acting in good faith to form a new member group, or to organize country of service reunions, or to carry out work in connection with NPCA programs and activities, including joint ventures with other organizations. In all these circumstances, this information will be protected from unauthorized use.
• To Harris Publishing Company for the printing of The Directory of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers and Former Staff, 1961-2005 that was released in November 2005. Under our agreement, Harris, before publication, made every reasonable attempt to make direct contact with each individual via telephone, mail or email to verify the information provided and to determine if an individual did not wish to be included in the directory. Further, the directory is copyrighted to the NPCA thereby restricting its use to each memberﾒs personal use and NPCA official use.
• To GEICO Insurance Company for the purpose of promoting an automobile insurance program to NPCA members. The NPCA receives a small fee for each inquiry made of GEICO resulting in a quote. These revenues support the NPCA through its general fund. Under a signed NPCA-GEICO agreement, GEICO is not authorized to make separate solicitations to our members and is not permitted to provide, rent or sell our information to other parties. NPCA approves all copy distributed to its members through this GEICO program.

From time to time, NPCA will conduct a mailing for an organization with similar aims to promote a specific event or activity that we deem of interest to our members. These mailings are performed by NPCA staff; the membersﾒ contact information is not provided to such organizations.
